I apologize for my earlier behavior pertaining to our last conversation. In retrospect, it was incredibly rude and the situation itself was poorly handled. Unfortunately, my Lieutenant is fully aware of what transpired, though I asked that I be the one to rectify things so that it placed no strain upon your relationship with her.
I suppose I should have answered your question from the start and not preemptively assumed hostilities despite the invasive content to which you commented. Had I opted to do so instead of responding to the initial inquiry with another, the resulting altercation could have been avoided. Again, I apologize for my unbecoming behavior and shall leave it in your hands as to whether or not you choose to dignify this with a response.

[Utena reads it over a few times, chewing on a lip. The anger at him is definitely still there. He's right, if he had just given her a straight answer this all could have been avoided and maybe she and Riza wouldn't be in such a strained relationship.
But maybe that's unfair. Dealing with those broadcasts is hard. She always felt strongly about that behavior toward Riza as well, it most likely would have come out sooner or later. Utena had never been one to let her friends be treated badly.
No. He did handle the whole thing badly. He knew who he was talking to and that she was friends with Riza. Yeah, both of them reacted in poor ways but for someone purported to be an adult and a ranking military officer, he should have been able to handle it better. And he still didn't get the point of what she had been talking about. Once again, Utena is absolutely stumped as to what Riza saw in this man, why she trusted him so damn much. Utena almost feels ashamed that she encouraged this - what little she did back when he first arrived
