"Fine, I didn't get what I came here for anyway and I'm not saving you from-" Wait. Why did he scream again? "... Whatever made you squeal like a girl or whatever! I'm going back to my game!"
And off Nester went. Thankfully for Jeff, he didn't get too curious about why he screamed. Perhaps.
"JAKE DID A GIRL JUST GET MURDERED IN HERE? I HEARD A GIRL SCREAM SO I BROKE INTO SOME GUY'S ROOM AND THERE WAS NO GIRL SO I BROKE INTO ANDY'S ROOM AND NOBODY WAS IN AND THEN I BROKE INTO YOUR ROOM AND YOU'RE NOT A GIRL."
"But then who screamed?" Max asked in confusion. "You heard that, right? There was a girl screaming like somebody was tryin' to kill her or somethin' you heard it, right?"
Pit popped in from the windowsill and crouched there. He looked rather alarmed and concerned and confused and worried and any other fitting synonym out there that could describe Pit's face of the now.
"Jeff! Are you okay? I heard this bloodcurdling scream, and I don't know why, but I thought it was you." He took note of the empty doorframe and the state of Jeff's sanity slipping. Perhaps his entrance had been timed badly. Not that it was his fault... he cared about his roommate!
"Not particularly, no," Jeff replied, still glaring at the now empty doorway. He was pretty sure his eye was twitching by now.
Letting out an aggravated sigh, he turned around. Scowling, he retorted, "You really shouldn't come in through the window like that." The possibility that the thief entered the same way passed his mind.
"Alright look," he pinched the bridge of his nose, his migraine already getting worse, "Some dumb oaf broke down our door. The handymen should be coming to fix it soon... but in the meanwhile, I'd rather not have people passing by be able to see into our room. Any suggestions?"
Pit didn't really have any suggestions at this point in time. His mind dipped into thoughtfulness but emerged quicky thereafter. "Broke down the door, huh? Why would he go and do a thing like that?"
"Because he heard me scr--shout and... thought someone was in trouble. Or something stupid like that, I don't know nor do I care." He looked back at the door-less frame. "Those handymen better come soon."
