Happy Fourth - and pie!

We aren't doing much for the 4th this year, I seem to be in low-interest mode for holidays this time around.  Spent the morning pressure-washing the curbs of the church parking lot while no cars were parked there, prepping it so I can repaint them, which isn't terribly holidayish, I admit, but it worked great

I was ever so grateful that my son learned to drive after he was past the age where he needed to log hours with a parent in the car. Growing up overseas, he never got drivers ed, so by the time he got his permit, he was in his mid twenties. I was useless as an instructor, however -- I was too nervous and he told me to stay home, lol! My hubby took over that job, and that was that. Whew!

We stayed inside today in an attempt to stay cool, and it has turned out to be a very restful holiday!

I am so not looking forward to it, though I know the end result will be worth the while. I'm doing the same thing my folks did and making her learn on a stick shift so she can drive anything she encounters instead of only automatics, but ack... the clutch! *jerk jerk jerk jerk jerk*

Many kudos to you for making sure she learns standard transmission! There are days when I wonder if it's going to become a lost art.
