[Accidental Video Post]

[The video opens to a jostling and bouncing view of the Square, as viewed from roughly thigh-high; evidently, the device has been stuck into someone's pocket for the transit, and got switched on by motion or by mistake. Supporting this conclusion is the fact that one small corner of the view seems to be covered by a bit of ( Read more... )

Quite clever, Rosella. I start to see why you insist on having so many pockets in your clothing.

Hm? Oh, hello, Cinna. Yes, this is exactly the sort of thing that pockets are meant for, I'm afraid--one never knows when one might need something in a hurry.

Do you keep all that in there on normal days, or did you stock up for today?

Oh, no, it's all the things I usually carry, though it's been dwindling fast with everything that people have asked me for today. I'm sure there's plenty more in my room, but as for what I have with me at the moment, I'm growing a bit short.

Why were you carrying about a bit of corn?

Oh, I found it while I was out feeding Valor this morning. It was mostly gone, really, so I think a squirrel or some other animal must've gotten at it.

That isn't really an answer, you know.

What about it isn't an answer? You asked why I had it, and I said it's because I found it.

I must admit, Rosella, that was rather impressive.

And will these people really accept things that aren't quite so literal as one might have thought they were meant to be?

Well, I didn't really give him a chance to say otherwise, I'm afraid. They've been at it all day, asking me about bits of this and cups of that and three of one thing and seven of another and really, all I want to do at the moment is get home.

I think I should consider myself fortunate to have avoided a great many of these sorts of things. I was made to walk only on certain colors of tile in one shop I visited today, and I was made to avoid the cracks in the sidewalk when I wanted to cross a street, but I haven't had any demands made of me like this was that was made of you.

Are you quite far from home as yet?

I'm a little more than halfway across the Square, just coming up on the Welcome Center. Really, this is getting ridiculous, some of the things people are asking for.

Oh, er, that reminds me, would you like a black silk tie? Someone just asked me if I'd like to fetch them a smooth stone from the lake in Xanadu in exchange.

To say nothing of the fact that eyes, ears, and teeth are quite a demanding price, just to let someone walk past them in the Square!

Well, I'm certainly glad I managed to find a way around it. Stealing an eye once in my life was far more than enough, I'm sure.

...You had a saw in your pocket?

Reply

primrosella August 12 2011, 03:12:08 UTC
Well, the blade, at least. Not the rest of the saw, along with it.

I don't understand how you fit all these things you carry...

Oh, it's not so hard, really! It was a small one, anyway, and I have a big pocket near the bottom of my skirt.
