HER MAJESTY QUEEN ROSELLA
Daughter of Graham and Valanice

Death came while she slept
To serenely dispatch her;
He'd tried while she waked
But he never could catch her.

Between this and Cain's, it's almost as though Christmas arrived early.

I'll never understand how anyone could be so cruel.

Morbid as it is, that is rather fitting for you.

It's better than some of the gravestones I've read before, at least. Though I don't know that I'd ever want one for my own, anyway.

When it comes time for you to need one, I rather doubt that you'll care much what it says.

It is odd that we're thinking so much on gravestones here in the City, where death is rather less permanent than it is in most other worlds.

'He who makes me doesn't want me, he who wants me doesn't need me, he who needs me doesn't care.'

About as odd as the fact that we have a graveyard here at all, really.

It's what one usually finds on those sorts of things, isn't it?

Well, usually that or a quote about angels or death dying.

Really? That does sound like a topic for a gravestone, death dying and all. It's witty enough.

Queen Rosella, huh?

It seems so. I suppose that's something comforting, anyway, that it seems I last long enough to become queen, at the very least.

Now I know I'm going to Hell. I pulled my gun on a queen.

[Actually, no. He's going to Hell for entirely different reasons, but she doesn't need to know that.]

Well, no, you're still safe for the moment. As yet you've only, er...pointed one at a princess. I won't be queen for quite some time yet. I hope.

[Not that it's exactly a pleasant memory to think about, but it's an attempt a humor, at least.]
