It is terrible, Miss Rosella. To use innocent people in such a way-- And the flyers truly make it all the more so. These 'deities' have no right to play with peoples' lives in such a way...

I hadn't either, actually, before I came here. My best friend introduced me to it a few months after I arrived, and it seemed like such a nice idea that I started looking forward to it every year.

This will be the first one I've ever celebrated without him, though. It's a bit strange, to think of it.

Did someone important to you leave the City, Miss Rosella?

...

Two of them did, this past summer. My friends Blue and Sam. Blue I'd known for more than two years, and Sam...Sam was the first person I met here, the one who came to my rescue the day I arrived. He was my best friend.

I am sorry... I hope they have returned to better places.

[Well. Um. One of them did, at least. 'Cause the other's kind of...dead. Awkward.]

I hope so, too. I'm sure Sam's world needed him to come save it again, so...well. They needed him more than I did, I'm sure.

[Whoops~ Well, at least he'll never know >>]

It-- [cough] It isn't quite fair to you to think that way, Miss Rosella... but I understand.

People can never be replaced, but there is thanks to be given for the blessing of friends, old and new.

[Ignorance is bliss~]

Yes, and I'm certainly thankful for all the ones I still have here with me. And I have the memories of them, too, so I suppose in a way, they're both still with me, as well.

Yes, that is a good way to think of it.
