Quest 218

Well, yesterday's curse was certainly...interesting, wasn't it? And quite odd, too, with all that talk of feeding and hacking at things and poking around frames, main or otherwise. I always rather wonder about curses like that, since they always seem to come with a whole new set of language and the people that are cursed with it always seem to know ( Read more... )

You're a bit ahead of me in memorizing your lines. I've still a bit more to go.

I wonder if Neil was up to something when he cast the lot of us.

Once we've rehearsed until we're sick of the whole ordeal, I'm quite sure you won't have any trouble with laughing.

Isn't Neil always up to something? At least when it comes to plays. I still haven't forgotten how he managed to persuade half the cast to join the last one, all by himself.

I suppose not. But I'll have to make sure I get it all out at rehearsal, just the same.

He is rather always up to something, that is true. I suppose that's how he managed to convince everyone: they all wanted to know what he was up to, and before they knew it, they were cast.

It sounds as though we're in for some very long rehearsals.

He's right that it's a good way of making friends, though. I know that's one thing he always brings up about it all, and it really is the truth.

I'm not going to laugh that much!

And here I was going to say it rather proved how cunning he was, and we ought to be glad he's only using it towards casting a play.

Excellent--I'm very glad to hear that.

Oh, I completely agree. We'd really be in trouble if he ever decided to try persuading us all into other things, too, wouldn't we?

Indeed, we would. We ought to keep an eye on him in case he changes his mind.

That's a very wise idea. He seems content enough being our director now, but one never knows what other nefarious deeds he may decide to get up to in the future.

Yes, precisely. I hope he uses these skills of his only towards good ends.

Well, we'll just have to keep an eye on him to make sure.

Are you doing well, though, outside of the play? I know I spoke to you a little yesterday, but to be honest, I can't make bit of sense out of what I was saying today.

I think we'll have to.

Yes, well enough. I can't make sense of what I was saying yesterday either, but I'm well enough. Are you?

Oh, I'm all right. I'm mostly glad the curses seem to be rather light and silly, lately. And nothing of mine was stolen the other day, the way it was for some people, so that's quite all right, too.

I think the one from before, the one where everyone was stealing everything--which, if I remember correctly, was all in reference to the Twelve Labours of Hercules, which is a story in my world too--missed me almost completely. I saw what was going on, but nothing of mine was taken, nor was I compelled to take anything.

Anyway, I'm glad you're enduring them well of late. And it's better that they be lighter than heavier, as ever.

And my room is still as messy as ever, so no one saw fit to divert a river through to try and clean up the mess. Or if they did, the Warehouse was kind enough to keep them out!

...Do you think it's going to be terrible again next month? Since it's...you know.

I suppose that's for the best. If they had, all your things would be soaking wet.

I've no idea. There's no way to really tell, is there?
