No, I agree with patchfire: I would *love* to trade Chafee for Corker. For Lieberman, too, but moreso before the election. Lieberman will caucus with the Dems, says he (as much as he ever did). I am hearing rumblings of Chafee (finally?!) changing parties...and to Democrat, rather than Independent, which is what I would have expected. They are rumors, though. I also love Senator Chafee. I hope he runs and wins again as a Dem or an Independent.
My gut says he's going to go Independent, but I won't complain if he ends up a Democrat. It was an asset, actually, to have him in the Senate as a Republican, because he voted his conscience and filled a seat that might have been filled by a neocon (although I'm not sure what neocons are actually realistic contenders from such a blue state as RI).
I hope Lieberman ends up a help instead of a hindrance. I'll have to wait and see, I guess.
