OK, I promised myself I would not get into a fullblown rant about Puella Magi Madoka Magica, but some things happened to a person I admire a whole lot recently and I feel the need to say something.
Agreed. Also, interestingly enough, while here in Walt Disney World, in the Epcot area of Japan, I met such people while browsing for some Haruhi Suzumiya franchise. Apparently, when away from their computers, where they are safe from actual harm behind their screens, arguing for their precious mahou shojo anime becomes more difficult.
I see no purpose in provoking them anyways, since we're not parading around their fansites saying that it's not a true mahou shojo. It was pretty much just a fetish anime. SHAFT failed at making it a good one, too.
I've only watched the first episode at this point, and I'm being paid to script the rest for a fandub, so I'll have to reserve judgement until then. But fortunately my expectations were not very high to start with. ;)
XD Yeah, that's what I normally do when I check out a new anime, then I'm pleasantly surprised when it's a good one, or not disappointed if it's a 'meh' one.
