Recs!

Feb 03, 2010 15:06

In keeping with the spirit of this month's Fabulous Females Fest, I think this week's rec post should be an opportunity to recommend your favorite stories that are told from a canon female character's point of view, so let's share some recs for great stories told by the wonderful women of Primeval. :)

I don't generally comment on recs - it seems weird when I know the person making it isn't actually talking to me ::g:: - but thank you for this.

I think we ought to have a Jenny one ::g::

I like Family Outing by spoons1899. It's Jenny, with a sharp and occasionally bitter voice, trying to find her place in the team, and weighing them all up with a keen eye. She can't quite make them all out, confused by the relationships between them, but in the end she doesn't need to.

In the end, they start to make a little room for her, too.

Away with the Fairies by telperion_15 is a very atmospheric almost fairy story told from Claudia's veiwpoint though it's more about the setting than about Claudia, if you see what I mean.

I'm trying to think of a good Helen story. I'm sure I've read several but right now they're eluding me...

Winter's Rage by fredbasett is a bleak story transitioning from some time line where Claudia is still with the team to the one we saw on screen. It probably needs a character death warning.

Here's a Helen one: And yes! We Changed the World! by tseeka. It's quite timey-wimey and again needs a character death warning, but it captures Helen very well.
