cool, you've got the moody blues in there!
is that drones tune a cover?
i wanted to thank you for pointing me in the right direction with MI-5, I am now four episodes in, and, though the slickness is not to my taste, i do like the program very much.

Yeah, I totally forgot about that Moody Blues song until mylifebythesea uploaded it the other day. And yes, the Drones song is a cover.
You're welcome about MI-5! It does get a little less slick and grows even better as you keep watching, so hang in there!

I'm fond of The Electrician. I used to force people to listen to it in my car.

I am of the opinion that Black Celebration is the peak of Depeche Mode. I can't think of Stripped as an individual track.

Yes, I can entirely see how that song pointed the way toward Tilt and The Drift.

I just like the odd glee expressed by the character. "Jerking the handle" became group slang among my friends for a year or so. Referring to "If I jerk the handle, you'll die in your dreams. If i jerk the handle.. Jerk the handle, you'll thrill me & thrill me & thrill me." It's a pretty melodious track though & it has that orchestral blast so it's commercial in a way. I understand it was about the torture of political prisoners in South Africa. Thought it was fascinating to write a song from the perspective of a torturer.

Ahh, so that's what it's about! Yeah, the middle of the song's quite a surprise when it suddenly turns conventional out of nowhere.
