Yeah. It's a prominent science in my world.

How does it work?

It uses energy to convert matter from one form to another. Or, if you want to get technical, you deconstruct a material and reconstruct something else out of it.

That's what you used to make the platform and the tournament trophy, right? I definitely want to learn how to do that!

Sure is. Heh! All right, sounds good. Keep in mind it's not nearly as easy as it looks.

Awesome! I don't expect something that cool looking to be that easy to learn!

Definitely. We'll see how it goes. Not everyone takes to it, after all.

Alchemy is a practical science in your world?

Reply

priceoftruth May 4 2009, 00:44:35 UTC
Yeah, it is. Why?

It's a form of science in my world.

I've never heard of it. I guess it's exclusive to your world.

Can anyone learn it...?

priceoftruth May 4 2009, 01:04:19 UTC
Well, sort of. Apparently a few other worlds have something similarly named -- sounds more like a dead field of study in those cases, though.

Not exactly. Some people take to it better than others.

Alchemy? ...I suppose it works differently on your world than most others.

priceoftruth May 4 2009, 01:04:43 UTC
I've heard it's a dead science in other worlds.

For the most part, but it did create the foundations of chemistry.

What is it like in your world, then?

Reply

priceoftruth May 4 2009, 04:36:02 UTC
Well, I guess all worlds can't be perfect.

It's closely tied with chemistry in my world. People use it everywhere -- small households, large shops. Even the military has a strong basis in alchemy.
