I've been on a house tear too and it feels so nice to get things more under control. Not completely mind you but I think that is part of owning a house.
I have taken more loads in the past week to the thrift store and the consignment store than is even reasonable, it has been nuts. But: it is stuff I did not want or need, it won't be thrown away/wasted, and at least in the case of consignment I will be getting a little bit back which is nice.
How much was excavating the back wall? We just did outside grading to try to help the basement be dry - and all kinds of folks recommended all sorts of different things, from French drains to swales to grading etc etc. It is all so confusing.
