This is GORGEOUS. I was dying for some Kate/Sayid today, and I refreshed the page, and here this was! Yay!

What a lovely and original scenario for O6 Kayid. I love that Aaron is there and that the two of them create this moment for him. There's so much healing going on, on all sides. This is so beautifully written and touching. Thank you.

Pulling away, Kate spots, from the furthest corner of her eye, the back of a whale breeching the surface of the ocean. A small cry falls from her lips. Sayid catches it in his mind, saves it. Puts it next to sight of her eyes widening and her lips forming a smile that had settled behind her teeth weeks ago and waited for the perfect chance to crawl out. Look, she whispers to the baby, pointing. The whale blows water into the air and Aaron laughs, his voice the tiniest song on the expanse of the sea, caught by the wind and carried out.

That whole paragraph? Is exquisitely written. For real. I think I knew somewhere deep down that this would involve Aaron. Just a gorgeous fic as usual, Catheryn. I love that Sayid is there to see Kate smile after all the doubt and anxiety that's been crushing her as she tries to care for Aaron. Amazing wor, hon.
