I finally hooked up my Wii to my Netflix account and have been watching this show. It's disturbing and really brings home the mental illness behind it. Those that get treatment always do much better than those who don't

I hear you--about 10 minutes in, I start cleaning, 'cause I don't want to end up that way. I have a lot of sympathy for those featured, 'cause I have the littlest bit of OCD myself, and know that "there, but for the grace of god, go I". Also, while the person usually has hoarding tendencies to begin with, there's almost always some sort of precipitating event for the extreme cases that's just as sad as hell. A death, or a really bad divorce . . .
Sometimes I do change the channel a few minutes in and come back for the last 15 though. It's hard watching. (I can't watch Intervention at all!)
Me to. I still have stuff from grade-school. I have some of those doodle-art posters you colored in with pens. I still can't let go of them. I also know hoarding runs in my family. My dad's brother has a little house completely filled with books and DVDs and that sort of thing. Fortunately he's terribly organized, so it won't be a total nightmare to deal with it when he dies, but it will still be a big job
