Aw . . . I'm very touched to read about your parents reaction to your recent visit. As a person with a fractious parental relationship I know that it took a certain something from you to get that done and I understand the mixed feelings.

I'm going to try to be better about writing in 2011 too. :)

Yay writing, and good to hear from you! It can be very hard to choose not to have blood kin be family.. but I think it might be harder to then reverse the decision. Not having done that one, I don't know, but I'm watching a few people go through it, and it doesn't seem very easy.

/me wonders what kind of stories you're writing? Would perhaps be interested in reading...

I think everybody with family issues has to find their own way through them. I knew it would be hard to reconnect, but I also knew I needed the space.

I have an almost finished SF novel that I started in a NaNo a couple years ago. I also started a scary story right before Halloween.
