OOC: 'Happy Pills' and Blargh

May 11, 2012 18:29

So years ago, back when I was dating my ex I used to take antidepressants. Turns out I was "situation-ally crazy" (I coined this phrase) because I really didn't have an imbalance, he was just literally driving me nuts. The anxiety and bouts of depression were because of my shitty relationship. Lost the idiot ex-boyfriend, evened right out.

Cut for more chatty chat about meds and medical stuff.. )

not my art, blah medications, not a blog, ooc, sairys bitching, rl: health stuff

because I start wondering where I end and the medication begins

This is the main thing that terrified me when I started finally taking medication for brain health stuff this year, and it's been consistently the biggest thing (aside from some family guilting) that makes it hard for me to want to keep up with and stay on medication. So I know your feels so hard, there. Changes are always a scary thing, and changes to health routine are even more so.

What I will say is that scary or not, they can really, really help. Thinking good thoughts towards you, and I hope things go okay with it. <3

Thanks! <3

My husband's kind of weird about it too, so I feel you on the family bit. But this will be our first deployment with me living on my own, so I think if he can work knowing I'm extra sane, he'll understand!

Thanks for the good thoughts. :D Always appreciated!

Agreed with you on the med issue. My sleeping is A-W-F-U-L, but I don't want to take meds for it for that reason (among others, like what if I sleep through a fire alarm?).

Right there with you on the diet issue, too. I used to live on carbs and Diet Coke... but diabetes from the first and kidney stones from the second "fixed" that issue. :/ Darned body, do well on what I want to eat!

Someone told me that it takes eating something 8-9 times to learn to like it. That's a darned lot of time to stick through something, but it seems to work.

Good luck with everything, and YAY insurance!
