Very smart of you! I learned to ride on a great horse (Butterscotch, I wanted to buy him, he was so good). But he's the only horse I rode at the time. One day he wasn't available so I had to ride some other horse, and I was just awful -- I had thought it was me that had been so good, but it was the horse. :P

I know exactly what you mean about the Sudden Pace Changes, I had the same problem when I was riding. Because that same horse who would go from derp to TIME TO CANTOR also liked to go right back to plodding a few paces later, and I always almost flipped right over his head.

I am so glad to hear of the progress you've been making! It sounds so exciting. You're making me miss riding!
