maeda_marikaDisclaimer: I don't own KAT-TUN, any of its members, any other JE people. I write this for fun and for other fans of these fine folks. But don't steal my plots, mmkay? I put a great deal of time into them except for when I'm randomly spastically spitting words onto a page. But I value those too...
Summary: Two criminals with vastly different styles meet by chance one day. They immediately clash but is that all they'll ever be? How much is fate and how much choice? And how will their meeting change the world around them?

NEW BANNER BY
going_dangerous!!
Okay, now I have two banners and they're both amazing (oh, and you should see the wallpaper version of this banner.... so nice!), so I will
be rotating them out every few chapters. Thanks to both going_dangerous and deshisoraba for my wonderful two banners.
Warning: This gets graphic often occasionally, containing at the very least foul language, character death, nefarious crimes, rape, etc etc.

The Things We Can't Control Master Post Chapter 81 ~Meeting the Sort-Of Older Siblings~
“I was starting to wonder if we’d see you this month or not,” the one with the red dragon tattoo said, though his voice was teasing and affectionate, not judgmental. Jin couldn’t recall ever meeting identical twins before. It was… interesting. They really were identical. Same eyes, same mouth. Same ears, even. The only real difference he could see was the tattoos. Red for one, blue for the other. “Yurina was here two weeks ago. Did you manage to fix your food situation?”
It was so embarrassing that he couldn’t remember which one was which even though Kame introduced them all properly. Though maybe it was less to do with them and more to do with the fact his heart was in his chest over being inside a prison after spending almost all of his life trying to avoid them entirely.
“Yeah. The bank failed because some idiot-” Kame began.
But Jin couldn’t let that stand so he interrupted with, “Hey! That was as much your fa-” though he stopped mid word as he took in the look on Kame’s face, which was a kind smile with a soft chuckle. Apparently he was just being teased. “Mou…” Jin pouted, “Stop teasing me! I get enough of that from Tat-chan!”
The one with the blue tattoo (which one was he again?) said, “He really is just too precious, Kame-chan. Adorable, really.”
“Hey, I’m not adorable. Tell them I’m not adorable, Kazuya! Tell them!”
“But you are, Jin.” Kame snickered, his eyes sparkling mischievously. Oh, he’d make him pay for this! Jin wasn’t sure how but he’d get Kame back for this.
But the one with the red tattoo… Akira? He quietly murmured to the other one, “Shh. Don’t tease the kid, Aoi.”
And just like that, Aoi stopped talking.
Guess Akira was in charge.
“You look happy but you’re entirely too tense for this to be a social visit, despite introducing us to your very adorable boyfriend,” Akira said. Jin growled under his breath. Everyone was having so much fun at his expense. On the other hand, there was something musical in Kame’s laughter and that sparkle to his eyes was so… just, intoxicating. But Akira continued with, “This is to do with the trouble plaguing the gangs recently? It’s your-”
Speaking way to quickly, Kame interrupted with, “It’s Papa K.” The sparkle was gone.
Akira and Kame stared at each other for just the briefest moment and then something changed in Akira’s eyes as well. He quickly glanced over a Jin, then back to Kame and said, “Just so,” which confused the hell out of Jin but then Akira continued with, “Papa K is behind it, then. So he’s attacked the different gangs only since they either can’t or won’t cooperate with each other, they haven’t put it together. We sent the news down the Chain but they won’t act on it, not if they find out Papa K’s behind it.”
“That’s all you’ve heard? Damn…” Kame sighed. “I was hoping… a reason. Well, no, I know why. I just don’t understand how what he’s doing will accomplish anything. For once, I guess I have the one-up on the PIC.”
“What do you know?”
“Firstly, that his true goal is,” and there another brief but really, really focused silence as Kame and Akira stared at each other, “Kizuna.” Akira nodded and Jin couldn’t help but feel there was something going on, something in the words or the looks that said more than what he was hearing. Otherwise… it was just kind of creepy, the very intense stare they had for a moment. But Jin had to admit, he might have imagined it. After all, there was no hint of it in Kame’s voice or expression as he continued with, “Second, he’s sending assassins against some of our members but, as far as Kizuna’s heard, this is only happening to us unlike the rest of it.”
“Assassins?” Akira was clearly surprised and both he and his brother Aoi looked nervous. “Kame-chan, are you… secure somewhere? I mean, the church is… is… not defensible if you have to make a stand there!”
“But I can’t go. People depend on us, on the food we give them. I can’t abandon them, Akira. You know that I can’t do that.”
Akira sighed and there was a definite sense of tragedy to it. “You have to stop blaming yourself for… other peoples’… actions.”
“Damn skippy,” Jin mumbled irritably under his breath, only realizing he’d spoken when he suddenly had three sets of eyes on him. Oops…
But Kame didn’t stay distracted for long. “So there’s nothing you can tell me?” He sounded positively dejected. Not that Jin could blame him.
“Give us a few days to search the PIC for news and then come back. Hopefully we’ll turn up something, now that we have this new information,” and it was Akira who said this again. Aoi, strangely, hadn’t said a single word since Akira told him to stop teasing.
“Be careful. Papa K has his spies in the Chain, too.”
“We’ll be very careful, Kame. Now, scoot. We have to talk to your boyfriend.”
Wait, what? “Me? Alone? Why?” Jin couldn’t help but feel nervous, the way the twins were eyeing him currently. Well, okay, he might, if pressed really hard - might, mind you! - admit that most of the nervousness was just from being at the prison. This place was the thieves’ version of the boogy-man. You know, ‘be a good thief or the evil police will come and carry you away to prison where you’ll rot for all eternity.’ Or at least a few years that would feel like an eternity.
Kame opened his mouth to say something but then just stopped, closing it. Akira said, “We won’t. Now scoot.” Kame gave a sigh of relief and left the room.
“Won’t what?” Jin asked.
“Won’t answer that question, for starters.” God, Akira looked scary right then. Aoi, too. Jin would almost swear the temperature in the room dropped thirty degrees.
“Ah… o…kay?” Maybe… maybe if he made himself really small… sort of sank into himself…
But, no, he couldn’t do that. Tatsuya would never let him live it down if he let himself get punked just by a look, no matter how incredibly scary they looked.
In a very straightforward, almost harsh tone, Akira said, “We see the way you look at him and we see the way he lights up around you, even with everything that’s going on. Our first inclination is that you are good for him, but we don’t know you. And your nervousness over being inside a prison-”
Jin’s jaw dropped and he interrupted, “How did-”
“Don’t interrupt us.”
Us? Only Akira was talking… “Yes, sir…” Jin said hastily, sitting up more properly instead of lounging like he had been.
“Your nervousness has outshone most of what is usual in you. That makes you much harder to read. If we had more time or a different venue for this meeting, we could make a proper judgment but as both are not to be had, we must be content.”
“So, then, wh-”
“We weren’t finished. I know you see the light that shines in him even now. It’s addictive. Makes you want to have him. But if you do it wrong, you will damage him. That light will dim. And if it does, you will not survive it. Do you doubt our words?”
There it was again. “Our? You’re the only-”
“Do you doubt our words?” Akira wasn’t yelling but his tone was… frightening. Completely.
Shaking his head rapidly, Jin said, “No, sir.”
Akira’s tone moderated a bit as he added, “I don’t think this will be an issue but I wanted to make absolutely sure you understood. As I said, what I see in him leads me to believe you’re good for him. Don’t prove us wrong, okay?”
“Okay.”
“Go. He needs someone during all of this. I’m afraid that as things get worse, he’ll just blame himself more and more and someone needs to tell him that it’s not his fault. You seem to have realized there are things he isn’t telling you, that he’s afraid to tell you… which, at the very least tells me you’re paying attention. But one day soon, he will need to tell someone close to him. If you’ve treated him the way you should, he will open up to you. Don’t force it out of him, okay?”
“Yes, sir.” That seemed to be the best answer to anything Akira said to him.
“Ah, don’t look so grim. We’ve never seen Kame-chan in love before. Not even once. Happiness has always suited him quite well despite how rarely he experiences it. We’d like to see him smile more often.” Aoi chuckled at his brother’s words, proving at least that he hadn’t completely forgotten how to use his voice.
“I’ll, uh, remember. All. Stuff. I’m… I’m leaving now,” Jin said awkwardly, fleeing as fast as he could without being completely rude.
Kame’s look was questioning as Jin took his hand. Jin couldn’t help himself; he blurted out, “Your friends are fucking scary, Kazuya.”
“I’m going to kill them…” Kame grumbled. “What did they say to you?”
“I don’t remember it all but I find myself really motivated to keep you happy.” But Jin gave Kame’s hand a reassuring squeeze. “Not that I wasn’t already completely dedicated to it. Come on, let’s go back, okay? This place makes me nervous…”
So they did.
