This is wonderful. Simply wonderful.

You've portrayed the way Subaru must have been like during those years of search beautifully. I loved how you showed the way in which he could have found a momentary intimacy that couldn't last because it would only make him focus on what he didn't have, couldn't have. His disbelief that it would really be a no-strings-attached is really in-character, considering his history.

It was heart-breaking the way he couldn't decide if Hokuto would have liked this man or not, and if that would have been good.

Great job! :)

Thank you! I'm glad to hear that Subaru's behavior, thoughts, etc. came across believably. And yes, he would have trouble believing there wasn't a catch of some sort, wouldn't he?

I second that - in all ways this was a wonderful fic. I like that Subaru never allowed himself to approach something as mundane as 'happiness' without dragging all his luggage with him. In the end, it is the luggage that defines him and not the act of (not!)intimacy. Pity, though - I was very fond of Maseru and t'would've been lovely to see a 'happy' Subaru. And that's exactly the point, eh?
Fabulous job :>

Thank you very much. I'm glad that the OC came across as likeable--it was interesting trying to come up with a believable scenario where Subaru could almost but not quite set down that luggage and move on.

I agree that is is one wonderful fic. It's heartbreaking since no matter who Subaru meets he'll never be able to give himself completely over.

i gotta admit i wanted to see subaru take the offer to visit the exhibition and what followed after it, since Masaru could be a good partner for Subaru. well too bad it didn't happen..
great fic, capturing the feeling, and great OC, loveable ♥

Oh. This was so painfully Subaru. How he couldn't trust fully, how everything reminded him of his past, thoughts about Hokuto, empty apartments and constant moving... *sob*

And I liked your OC, Masaru. Such a nice character, a bit like Sorata, but not quite.

The paintings, canvas and the motiff of strings and other little details really made the fic

Thanks ♥
