You and I were on a pretty similar wavelength on this. I love your connection from Milo to the Observers tho, hadn't thought of that and it's fantastic! Some people think Observers are from the third "Yellow" universe -- maybe it was destroyed (maybe by that machine and that's how the parts got scattered
( ... )
Sadly I didn't come up with the Milo-Observers thing, just elaborated on it a lot haha. I saw someone mention it somewhere and it spiralled into all these wonderful possibilities in my brain. :) I do like the yellow universe theory - I think it's better than having yet another universe exactly like our own (because they must be going somewhere with the red-yellow-blue imagery, right?)
I take your point that she didn't really change her destiny, because it wasn't hers to begin with, but there's still some symbolism there, a further demonstration that Olivia is 'special'. She's always seemed to have some kind of ability to change reality (or at least perceive it differently, but on Fringe that can be the same thing: 'If you can dream a better world...'). The red universe rules just don't apply to her (now where have I heard that before? :) )
It's interesting that Milo's predictive powers could be fooled by his perception of Olivia as Altlivia.
