math requirements for med school

what is the math requirement for medical school? i have done College Algebra, Statistics, Trigonometry and Calculus 1 during my undergrad years and right now in grad school i have taken basic biostatistics for public health practice. Please...i hope i do not need anymore math. good luck to you all of you and your goals of med school and thanks!

At my school it's Physics that you have to take, not any "pure maths"... but I'm also in Canada so it very well could be different *shrug*

I don't remember finding many, if any, US schools that required past calc 1. I think a few recommended calc 2. A number of US med schools require 2 college math courses, which you've got. You can find this stuff on individual med school websites and in MSAR.

I got in with a semester of elementary functions and a semester of calc 1. (I had to sneak around my undergrad school's requirement of calc 2 for physics 2.)

Usually it's 2 semesters of Math at a Calculus level or higher.

So Calc I and Calc II will cover it.

There is also a physics requirement (again, 1 year of physics to fulfill that one).

Calculus is a rare requirement in my experience, so you are probably fine with the classes you have already taken. If you know where you want to apply, you can go to their websites to see what classes they require, just to be sure.

I don't think all med schools a math requirement. But if want to be competitive than at least a semester or three of calculus.
