Back again :) (I really love this story and couldn't wait until tomorrow *g*).

Okay. I hope you don't mind that I spam your posts with comments (but just as I said above - waiting isn't my strong suit and I prefer to comment whenever I find something I liked - or didn't like).

They sat on the floor, eating with their fingers. There were no plates, no silverware, no napkins. The food was eaten off of a thin pancake-like or bread-like something - rather like Ethiopian injera, Julian thought. There was not much of it. They had been given a skin of water. For some reason, he yearned for a scone and clotted cream. The feel-better meal he had been given when he was sick as a child....Love the contrast to their lunches and the details are great. Garak eating with his fingers is... strange, but it works great in this scene. And the last sentence makes me want to give Julian a scone and all the cream he likes. Poor boy ( ... )

"Spamming [my] posts" --??? Just the opposite, thanks so much for your many and detailed (and kind!) reactions! Please keep them coming! I wrote this in a vacuum -- there was *no one* in Real Life I could show it to -- and I've been dying to see if it worked for others the way it played out in my head.

Don't hesistate to point out anything that *doesn't* work for you, as well.

>> Your Dukat is perfect!
I was wondering if I'd managed to capture the characters' true voices. Thanks!

I've always found it somewhat of a failure of the imagination when we assume that there wouldn't be differences, major or minor, in this area. Of course, on television I guess we *have* to hire humans; few Cardassians in the actor's union, right now. Too bad...

Hope you enjoy the rest!

this story is favourite of mine, and never fails to cheer me when i'm down. I've actually thought of printing a copy onto paper and adding it to my favourites folder. But whenever I do I always ask permission first.
So would you mind if i did print a copy out. No one is likely to see it but me, as I I like to make sure I have copies of my favourites in case they vanish from the internet, as so many goo star trek ones do.

a quick answer would be appreciated.
