He did it! He did it! He did it! Last night, we did the whole bedtime routine and put him down. I was so anxious I had to do breathing exercises while I nursed him so he wouldn't be able to feel my tension and feed off of it. He did another 9 hour night! I was so proud. I keep expecting the other shoe to drop, by which I mean I expect him to wake up at 3am and take two hours to be calmed back to sleep. Brennan napped very well today- two solid naps of at least an hour and a half each, plus a short snooze in the evening. We didn't make any progress in terms of length of time it took him to get to sleep tonight- it was 10:30 again, so an hour and a half all told. It only took me about ten minutes to get him back down after my last writing. He fell asleep for good around 10:30, which means that so far we're shaving a half hour off of the time every day. I swear this ordeal is going to give me hives or something. I hate it. I have to take the bouncy seat out of the bedroom before 9:00 bedtime, because it just sits there mocking me. Brennan stayed asleep the first night for six hours, then woke up at 5:30. He nursed and I tried putting him back in the crib a couple of times, but of course he kept freaking out. We're trying to teach Brennan to fall asleep on his own, in his crib. Previously, he fell asleep with my nipple in his mouth, then was placed ever so carefully in a bouncy chair that had vibrating action if he needed extra help falling asleep.
