Emotional & Breast Changes

Jul 03, 2013 02:55

Hey everyone, I just have a quick couple of questions. I'm 31 weeks and the past couple of days I've been an emotional mess. Up until now, I've been fairly even keeled as far as emotions go, but lately... I'm falling apart at every little thing. I'm frustrated, tired of being pregnant, and as much as I love my daughter- I feel like I'm losing my ( Read more... )

I wasn't a wreck at the end surprising considering I was in pain all the time and sleep deprived. Maybe I was too damn tired. I did have a mini breakdown on my due date when nothing happened. I was so ready.

My 1st pregnancy was easy and it was still tough. This one is tougher with the morning sickness.

Allow yourself to feel like crap. Take time for yourself. Know you're tougher than you think.

Thank you. I wish there was something I could do that made me feel less like crap. If I make it all the way to my due date and she still isn't here, i will probably be a hot mess. I want her to be ready to be born, but I wish that she was ready NOW.

I'm not good at pregnancy.

If you're leaking milk, you may want to get some nursing pads that slip in your bras, and probably a comfy non-underwire sleep bra to hold the pads in. You'll need that stuff after the baby comes anyway. Personally, I like the Johnson & Johnson disposable nursing pads...they seemed more comfortable/fit better than other brands I tried.

I got some... I feel like you can see them through my bra and shirt from like... space. I'm rather self-concious about my boobs to begin with as they have gone from being a normalish DD to an H cup. Although they do balance out the bump. lol. I will pick up some of the Johnson & Johnson ones and try them.

Seeing the nursing pads through the bra and shirt was one of my biggest complaints about most of the other brands of nursing pads I tried (including some cloth ones). The johnson & johnson ones are not flat, they have a gentle curve with a little bump in the middle (and they are thin around the very edge) so they seem to be the most "invisible" ones I've found. Giant boobs is one of those things I find an annoyance of pregnancy (and early baby days). The good news is they do eventually go back to their normal size AND stop leaking...regardless of whether you wean or keep nursing for months or even years ;-)

Thank you! I will definitely be getting some of those. I am so glad to hear that they will eventually return to their previous size. My WMD's (Weapons of Mass Distraction) are getting out of hand. ;)

You are not a big fat whiner.
There's a lot of good advice here, but I wanted to add that Zantac (Ranitidine) is safe for pregnancy* and can be a lifesaver for your heartburn. Eating antacids can increase your sodium levels (which will make you puffy and uncomfortable) so just skip that and go for the better stuff. I had terrible heartburn with both my pregnancies so I feel for you.

*Disclaimer: I am not a doctor, you should ask yours, etc etc.

Thank you! I did not know that about eating antacids. 0_o. I do also have Zantac too, so I will try to stick with that. The last thing I need at this point is to get any puffier.
