a) Not sure, but as the weeks go by you may find planning meals around what doesn't make you feel sick! Go with your body and don't stress it - eat as you need and stick to usual healthy stuff without stressing too much over the odd chocolate bar. :)

b) Not entirely sure what kind of book you're after, but I found What To Expect When You're Expecting a good read - it's quite scientific and explains everything that's happening developmentally, which in turns helps explain why you're feeling sick, anxious, exhausted, etc etc. Maybe someone else can be more helpful!

Welcome to the community, and congrats!

Thank you! I actually just bought that book today, and it has certainly tamed some worries this far. :-)

I was following a clean eating lifestyle before the pregnancy - well for the most part lol.
Once I got pregnant that changed though :(( I had loads of soda because it helped me with the nausea. Thank God that's now over though... I do have more sweets than before though.
It's not impossible to still eat healthy during pregnancy but I'd say that you shouldnt stress over it too much. Just listen to your body. Try to get as many fruits and veggies in as you can and find a balance. Remember that you do not need to eat for two now. But again - dont stress if your body asks for me sugar than usual. Moderation is key.

And since Im not an English native speaker I cant really suggest any books to you. Sorry.

Congrats on the pregnancy :))

During the first trimester, I didn't even have bad morning sickness, but I was pretty much constantly woozy and queasy, sort of like being seasick. I rapidly found that I would eat whatever I could stomach -- sometimes that was pretty healthy stuff, like feta cheese and avocado, but there were weird days when I would only crave McDonald's cheesburgers (I know) or, I don't know, Malt-O-Meal. It was all over the place. I did make sure to take a good prenatal and try to eat vegetables, fruit, or generally nutritious foods when possible, but I also knew that eating AT ALL was helpful and it wasn't always simple to find something healthy that I could handle. So make a meal plan by all means, but be ready to be flexible and patient with yourself if your appetite is a little off.

Congratulations!

A) Meal plans? I have seen the post about what type of foods, but i am wondering for the first trimester specifically what meal plans you all follow/followed.

I agree with azure_dragon re feeling sick and eating. Don't worry too much about it.

I loved Ina May's guide to childbirth. If I can think of any more I will let you know. Try to enjoy it is my biggest piece of advice. It's such a beautiful special thing. You are growing a soul!

you have no idea if you'll be sick or not, and honestly any plans you try to make may be right out the window by 7 or so weeks. between this and my last pregnancy I decided to try to go grain free as much as possible, but as soon as I saw the two lines on this last stick, I knew that plan had to go on hold because at the beginning of my last pregnancy I ate all bready things and dairy. I was able to tolerate no fruits in any way, shape or form, and the only vegetable I could handle was cooked carrots. this time wasn't so bad, i actually did manage a few more fruits and veggies and didn't crave bready things nearly as much, but it could have easily been the same as last time around ( ... )
