Itching as in skin stretching? I had a bit of that. When I'm in the shower, just before I get out, I rub oil into my belly and sides, and then lightly rinse it in the hot water. I rub the rest in with my towel when I get out. I notice my skin doesn't itch at all on days I use it.
For the restless leg, I seem to have made it stop with mag supplements an hour or two before bed. I don't know if it is coincidence or placebo, but I'll take it. I can't stand that feeling! Of course, check with your provider before taking the mag, and too much can cause loose stools so start with a small dose. I think mine is about 250mg and I can tolerate it ok.
I don't think it is skin stretching. I itch on my hands, legs, arms, feet, face...pretty much everywhere including places that I routinely moisturize. I put a call into my doc so I can ask about the mag supplement too.
I don't know about the itching, but I had awful RLS with my first and for the first part of my second pregnancy. Turns out, I had an iron deficiency, or the start of one. I was put on ferrous gluconate and that seemed to take the RLS away nearly completely. No idea if there was a connection, but to this day, when I get twitchy, I realize I've missed a dose or two and take one and wham, I'm all good again. Maybe it's psychosomatic, but worth looking into anyway. : ) RLS during pregnancy is BRUTAL. I would kick and kick for hours before finally falling completely asleep. When I was already soooo exhausted. *HUGS*
I'm no help, but I'm 30 weeks & also having restless leg issues! It makes it so hard to get to sleep. Stretching, massages, and hot baths all seem to help for a little bit, but it always manages to come back before I can fall asleep. I hope you find some relief and if you do, let me know! Lol
I took benedryl for a cold one night and I had restless legs all night. I then read that medicine like benedryl can trigger it. I've had restless legs one other time too though, it happens in my arms too and it drives me crazy!
Get unscented lotion for the itching. I had a lot of itching and was using bath and body lotion. I now use olay lotion and it helps a lot.
