i had a really bad rash develop around the stretch marks near my boobs... turned out i had spontaneously had an allergic reaction to my deodorant, which was nearing its expiration date. your skin is extremely sensitive right now, especially where it's stretching, so i'd try eliminating some of your soaps, lotions, etc and see if any of it makes a difference. if it's under your belly, could it be dry skin rubbing against your pants? or maybe moist skin not getting dried properly after bathing. i'd recommend making sure it's clean, dry, and putting aquaphor on it.

hopefully my skin is just being sensitive to the lotion i put on my belly to help the stretch marks, I know there is no avoiding them so i'll stop and see what happens. and I do wear the maternity jeans that come up really high so it is definitely being rubbed all day. Its just so strange that either of those things would cause a reaction like this all of the sudden when I have been using the lotion and pants for months now!

it could be that they stretched a bit more and your skin got a bit more sensitive, and maybe you got a heat rash or something (from sweating) that got inflamed from the pants. it's worth mentioning to your doctor, but could wait until your appointment if you feel like it's easily managed. if it starts spreading (despite taking care of it, keeping it clean, letting it air) and itching insane amounts, then i'd put in a call. other than that, i would try not to stress over it. our bodies do crazy things under the stress of pregnancy!

Ick! I had PUPPP in my pregnancy. It really does drive you nuts. But as soon as my baby was born - 1 month ago - it was gone. I tried prescribed lotions from my doc, remedies from the chemist but the only thing that relieved the itch were ice packs, aloe vera gel - the pure stuff - and putting oatmeal in a tepid bath and soaking in it. I'm sorry you're going through this. The itch sucks!

how did they diagnose it? and do what did you get it? i am reading that its usually late in the 3rd trimester and im not even close to that! I also read %70 of the time it is when you are pregnant with a boy and I am having a girl.

I had it with a girl. I don't remember when it started. Benadryl cream was the only thing that helped me much. I hear that a lot of people have luck with Grandpas Pine Tar Soap. But anything you do you'll probably have to keep doing it... The only cure is birthing the baby. My rash went away immediately but I itches for another week or so after she was born.

yea benedryl cream like twice a day is keeping it under control pretty well and I read about the pine tar soap I just need to find a place around here that carries or order some online. Thanks for the tips :)

I got an itchy rash like what you're describing right above my belly button when I was about 30 weeks or so. I went to my doc and they prescribed a cream that has steriods in it- sounds weird, I know, but it really helped!

Oh, man, not to be a bummer but it really sounds like PUPPP to me. I got it around week 36, hives exactly on my stretch marks on the underside of my belly. Oatmeal baths helped, and so did cortisone cream, and Benadryl at night so I could sleep. But it was literally gone the day after I had my son.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you that it's only an allergic reaction to something else and not PUPPP!!
