Braxton Hicks

Nov 18, 2011 22:47

Currently 18w1d. Everything is different about this pregnancy. Longer/worse nausea, SPD is starting already. Yay. Oh well.

But this is weird. Did anyone else start feeling Braxton Hicks this early? Did you find that you just needed more hydration? That was the usual cause of all my BH last time. It's not painful, just odd.

Mine started at 12w with my second pregnancy, but I found myself pregnant at 6weeks PP so it wasn't really a surprise to me. I figured it my uterus being all 'eff you, woman.'

Mine started ridiculously early... like 8 or 9 weeks.

They can start as early as 6 weeks, it's just that most people don't feel them until much later. Maybe because this is your second pregnancy they're stronger and/or you're more "in tune" and notice them when they're weaker :)

yep same here, this is my third pregnancy and I got BH contractions at about 8-9 weeks when I was dehydrated and on my feet all day without a break at work.

I started feeling Braxton Hicks at 16 weeks with my first! And about 20 weeks this time, oddly. With my first, I had them so much my midwife was initially worried about preterm labor, since hydration did not help at all. I DID find that they were frequently related to trapped gas. This time, much of the same but I haven't been having them nearly as much so far.

Anyway, 18 weeks is totally within the realm of normal. Even the first time around, my midwife said it was early but still normal.
