Because UTI's come on differently during pregnancy sometimes, I'd insist on getting in, just in case. I had an undetected UTI that snowballed into Preterm labor with my first, it totally didn't present they way my "ususal" UTIs did. Since you're coming on a weekend, better safe than sorry. :)
If you're at all worried, I'd get checked. Symptomless UTI's are extremely common during pregnancy and cause issues with early labour if left unchecked.
That being said, I'm 33w and my urine is extremely strong smelling. It's a normal colour though, I pee a normal amount for this stage of pregnancy, I drink plenty of water and there are no signs of infections present (have had swabs and urine tests done).
It could be. I've also read research that states that towards the end of pregnancy, women get generally all round stinkier. I think the theory behind it is that as a baby can't see especially well, it identifies you by smell so everything smells more strongly. I don't remember my urine being this strong smelling with my first pregnancy, but I definitely remember being extremely strong swelling in my vulva and armpits.
Er, yeah, I swear, during the last trimester I thought I stank SO bad. I kept asking my husband and friends if they could smell me, because I smelled me and I was not happy!
As others said, def worth getting checked out because there are a couple of more serious things it could be. But are you sure it is your urine and not discharge? My discharge got more copious/smellier right around that time the first time and I heard that is normal.
I'm 38 weeks today and last Friday, by a total fluke, they sent me up to L&D for a work up to check the progression of my pre-e since my symptoms were escalating but my UA was the same. They found "a ton" of blood and bacteria in my urine (which I pay attention to but never saw) that had backed up into my kidneys. I've had UTI's before, kidney stones & infections too and yet it was completely indistinguishable to me. I just figured that was par for the course at nine months.
To clarify, I didn't have any unusual symptoms. I had to pee frequently and sometimes it was painful but it was always at night and hurt more in my bladder like I'd held it too long vs typical ut irritation and the back pain seemed unavoidable since I had sacroilitis to begin with. I didn't have or ignore anything overt. Both things did lessen after a couple days on antibiotics though not entirely.
Yeah, I kinda let some mild symptoms go because I didn't want to deal with the snarky nurse, and then I ended up in the hospital with chills and a messed up kidney.
Snarky nurses are the worst I know, because you have to keep interacting with them, but don't be like me!
