The only solution I've found is to cut down my activity level quite dramatically. I do 45 minutes of pre natal yoga once a week and walk every day. That's it now. I was doing tons more in my 2nd trimester.
Now I'm 30w, when I do housework/chores I have to do it in short bursts or they pick up. Resting is the only thing that helps but stuff needs to get done as I am a single mother!
Keeping very well hydrated helps, for me this means drinking at least 10 glasses of water a day. I don't want to drink too much because I don't want to put my kidneys under strain, but if I don't drink a *lot*, then I get dehydrated really easily and that makes everything worse.
A maternity support band may help, my midwife recommend one to me and I'm faffing with which one to buy atm.

Hydration helps keep preterm labor at bay for me but doesn't do a hell of a lot for the Braxton Hicks... I just spend a hell of a lot of time on my left side and in the bathroom. LOL
A maternity support band is a good suggestion to try out, I'll probably look into that too.
Good Luck to you!
