Let me just preface by apologizing if I sound vain...it goes without saying that it's all worth it, but I do care what I look like. Also, not sure where else to ask this so hopefully there are some others here who know

It will take longer to bounce back with your second child. I would say focus on your core muscles. Do crunches and other exercises that focus on all of your abdominal muscles. My stomach is very wrinkly from this past pregnancy (my second as well and I am also 5 months post partum). I can say, at least in my case, I don't expect the wrinkly skin to go away no matter how flat my stomach gets. My mother had 4 kids and though she was skinny, her stomach still had a bit of a pooch and was wrinkly.
I am taking a class once a week called Restore the Core, to help get my core muscles back into shape. It's a 55 minute workout specifically aimed at the "mommy muscles" that get stretched during pregnancy. If you can find a workout DVD or a class you can get to that focuses on those muscles, I would recommend that.
No no no crunches are the worst thing you can do for a diastasis. Not to be argumentative. You really need to focus on the transverse abs to heal a diastasis. The contraction of those muscles combined with the "pushing out" motion that crunches have actually further damages the connective tissue.
I'm not exactly sure how it works, but the skin itself can stay flabby for a long while, even if the muscles are well toned. Give your skin time to shrink back too - I'm sure at least 9 months is normal.
You know, I didn't get any in my first pregnancy and I only put on cocoa butter when I bothered to remember. My mom also didn't get any with two pregnancies, so I figured genetics were also on my side. However, my stomach got a lot bigger then my mom's did. My second was on the larger side at 9.2 and I'm a fairly petit small waisted girl so I had nowhere to go but out. I went 10 days over my EDD though and didn't get a single mark until my 40th week! I was pretty upset.
But oh well the "stretch marks" if that's really what they are aren't even visible. It's the wrinkles that are.
Check out the body slimming and try the ultimate body applicator wraps (maximum results are when combined with the defining gel).
I've been using these for a few months and my baby pouch is almost gone (i have more than just wrinkly skin though, I was blown out by my 10+ lb son with 80 lb weight gain during pregnancy). So, you're results should be alot quicker.
