Zofran while breastfeeding?

Apr 15, 2011 23:49

I feel like complete ass tonight. I think I ate something noxious and want to yak. I have these leftover Zofran and if taking one will help me sleep I'd love to take one. Anybody know if Zofran is OK while breastfeeding?

21 days PP

Safefetus.com is like my favorite website for information like that.

However, Zofran is for nausea, not a sleep medication. It actually is one of few anti-emetics that do not cause drowsiness, which is one of the reasons that it is so popular.

Most over the counter sleep aids are some form of antihistimine which can cause you to lose your supply, or lessen it.

If you are having trouble sleeping, I'd suggest some tea for now and a call to your doctor to discuss options.

Sorry, I meant I couldn't sleep because I'm so nauseated. I thought I'd try and deal with that and hope that sleep will follow if I feel better. I guess my brain isn't working properly...
