I am hoping this community can give me some insight. I looked over the tags and I don't see one pertaining to stretch marks, but I may have missed it. If this is not appropriate for this community I will remove this post

I have severe stretch marks on my thighs and hips from weight gain (not even a baby to make them worth it, uggh) and I've tried all kinds of lotions and creams and really the only thing that has faded them is moderate sun exposure and time. They've all taken about 2 years to fade to a point where I'm comfortable in shorts that don't go past my knees, although they're still a little noticeable.
I haven't found anything that works. Outside of 'Mummy Kisses', as people like to call them, stretch marks have an all together more life-saving purpose. Our bodies secrete a hormone that actually causes stretch marks - hence why we're likely to develop them in the last weeks of pregnancy when baby grows, grows and grows some more - so that our skin doesn't rip open.
I know it's hard to have them but the only thing I know that works is a little time to let them fade.
