This is kind of embarrassing...

but I gotta ask if anyone else has had this issue. Since I've been in my second trimester I am finding that my deodorant is failing me! I switched from my regular to my dove clinical strength and even that is not helping. What truly kills me is that I am not even breaking a sweat! This is getting ridiculous! Oh my ( Read more... )

I rotate brands regularly and that is the only thing that works for me. Right now I'm using suave, but I will switch between that, secret, lady speed stick, and dove. I honestly rotate whenever I start to feel like one is starting to fail and by constantly rotating my body never gets a chance to really build up any kind of way around it.

The only thing that works for me when I ABSOLUTELY cannot get anything else to work is something called certian dri, it's a roll on for excessive sweaters that you can get in wal-mart or online. It has no smell, so I would suggest pairing it with another product. It's odd the way you use it, at first you do it every day at night, it doesn't wash off, then you start using it less and less. It will burn the hell out of your skin if applied directly after shaving though.

That is a good product, but it's not recommended for use during pregnancy without discussing with your doctor.

I sweated lots before pregnancy, a nd LOADS during. I used layers of talc, roll-on, then spray-on and rotated brands frequently. Thankfully I hardly sweat at all now (15 weeks pp)!

I had no idea it was not recommended for use during pregnancy. I can't really think of any reason why it would be harmful?

The active ingredient is aluminium chloride:

What should I discuss with my health care provider before using aluminum chloride hexahydrate?
FDA pregnancy category C. This medication may be harmful to an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. It is not known whether aluminum chloride hexahydrate passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

Yup, I've had this problem since I was probably 6 weeks along. I posted about it here, and everyone assured me that it was normal. Part of it is your hormones raging, and changing your body chemistry, and part of it is your bloodhound pregnancy nose. Chances are good that nobody else will notice it.

Degree, applied more than once a day, made me not want to wretch at my own scent.

I literally gagged at the way I smelled last week. Sorry, Tom's of Maine, you're not cutting it!!!

You're not alone. I was at a wedding and wore a dress someone had passed down to me without washing it. I smelled BO the entire night and it was awful, but I assumed it was on the dress from the last person (which made it plain disgusting to me). Then, a few weeks later I smelled the BO again and realized it was me. It's only happened a handful of times and then goes away but yeah, I understand.

I had the same thing and my dr said it's probably more noticeable to because my nose is on turbo mode.

One thing that helped was cleaning my underarms with rubbing alcohol on a cotton pad after showering, then applying deodorant. That way I was positive that all of the old residue was gone before application. Some of the clinical strength versions left a film on my skin that was hard to wash off.

Yeah, I've noticed the film. For the most part I'm home alone with the cats (husband works and is in law school). When J is actually home he doesn't notice and even if I call attention to it he doesn't care.(I gotta one of those goofy weird guys that tells me everything of mine that is gross, even my boogies, are sexy, lol)
So luckily, I know I'm not offending anyone (I mean, the cats sniff each other's bums lol)
