I've had that before I was pregnant, and it was gas bubbles. I'm wondering if maybe your organs are trying to find a place inside you around the baby?? I don't know, but I'm curious so please update when your m.w. calls back! I hope your okay.

ugh, being sick and dealing with crap like this is NOT what us preggers need! I just got over a massive head cold. You poor thing, I hope you feel better soon! xoxo

Sounds like a cramp or bruise in your ribs. That kind of pain can seem scary, like there's something wrong with your heart or lungs, but it's rib pain.

my midwife said i may have a lung infection (i've had a cold the past couple days, so she said it could have made its way into my lungs) or i've popped a rib out from coughing so hard. i'm just happy it's nothing to do with the baby and it's not too serious.

A lung infection can be serious! I'd want to get to the doctor ASAP.

I've had this before. Not serious, just baby positioning. S/he's getting big enough to cause massive discomfort just by rolling over.

I had that and had actually pulled a muscle in my back.

how strange! what did you end up doing to fix it?

I lounged about like a bum for about a week. According to my midwife, it's fairly common because of everything expanding.

sometimes i get so frustrated when i ask my midwife about a pain and she says that to me! "it's normal, it's from everything stretching/expanding."

come on, you're a midwife. shouldn't you have some magical cure to help ease my pain?!

If they're thinking it's in your ribs and it's from coughing it could be the cartiledge between your ribs getting inflamed (costochondritis). I am prone to awful winter coughs and have grown sadly familiar with the condition. It feels like what you described and it'll go away once the cough can be controlled. Easier said than done, I know... good luck and I hope you feel better soon!
