Sweet. So I got a piece of paper in the mail thats telling me I have hyperthyroidism and I need to do more blood tests. Along with that paper, I got a bill for $750 for 3 blood tests, el oh el. I have state insurance and everything so far (including my sons birth) has been free. Hopefully the payment plans can be done at like $10 a month :P ( Read more... )

The blood tests should be covered. Calling billing and make sure they submitted it correctly.

Yeah but it's better than coming up with $750. Everything should be covered. In 9 years I have NEVER received a bill.

I also got a bill for an ultrasound that went to collections about a year ago. I should call Colorado for that.

Welcome to the thyroid problem club. I got diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis about 4 years ago when my ex husband and I were TTC. I have kinda the opposite problem you do - my thyroid doesnt produce enough hormone because my body is trying to eat it ( ... )

I appreciate the info. Its hard for me to understand things sometimes... Maybe Ill just blame it on the thyroids, maybe everyone else will have no clue what is is either :x

lol. Well for me, that worked before I got on meds. Hypothyroid (again, the opposite of your problem) causes depression, so I could sometimes get away with being all pissy! lol.

My thyroid went hyperactive after I had my son. It made me lose a crappies of weight( which was awesome until I was getting skeleton looking), I had the constant hunger and constant pooping thing, it also made me shaky and gave me intense anxiety. I was put on methamazole(tapozole) and everything got back to normal. They wouldn't put you on that drug because it is not safe for pregnancy but there are other options that are safe. I was diagnosed with Grave's disease and was told that it some cases it clears up after treatment which is what happened to me. My levels have been normal since Zmarch when they weaned me off my meds. I have to get tested every so often to make sure everything is still good.y Grave's will most likely come back after this baby is born and I'm hoping it will be easily controlled. My doc warned that one day I might have to get part of my thyroid removed but I'm hoping I can put that off for awhile. It really hasn't been a huge thing for me and I'm hoping you won't have a hard time with it. Some of the the stuff ( ... )

My cat has had hyperthyroidism for the past four years. He's on a human medication, called Methimazole. His symptoms are an uncontrollable appetite, yet major weight loss. When his meds need to be increased, I'll notice that he eats more, is thinner, and is awake all the time.

I just wanted to add to everything posted above, that what this means for your pregnancy is that your child may be below average weight when they are born.

I'm hypothryoid, and I've lost a pregnancy due to low thyroid hormone, so i've been supplemented to the point of slight hyperthyroidism.
