Long overdue birth story

Jul 24, 2010 23:56

Logan Alexander was born on Tuesday, July 13th at 10:35pm weighing 8lbs 12oz and measuring 21 inches. He is perfect.

The reason I've been so slow to update is because he was born via c-section and recovery from the surgery has been difficult, to say the least. But we are home and settled and I can finally share my birth story...

It's a LONG story... )

vomiting, posterior presentation, birth stories- surgical, epidural anesthesia, doctor/midwife is an ass, birth announcements, complications - interventions, electronic fetal monitoring, birth trauma, breastfeeding problems, cascade of intervention

Congrats on the birth of Logan! I'm sorry to hear it was traumatic for you. I hope you have success with breastfeeding definitely join the breastfeeding community here on LJ, they are a wonderful and educated community with plenty of experience regardless of how long you have been BFing for.

Good luck with everything, being a mum is the best thing in the world :D

Well, congratulations on your beautiful boy, and I'm really sorry about what you went through. I can't believe not ONE nurse took pity on you and talked to the lactation consultant or made the effort to find someone to help you.

I'm with you on this so angry. You as in op are the second Brooklyn mama in a Manhatton hospital that has had a bad time with nursing and forced C sections. It makes me wonder if it's the same hospital and if this Doctor is doing this to allot of women. I just can't believe how crazy that was. I'm glad to hear that your baby is healthy, and able to latch on now. Good for you for hanging in there. So many people would have given up. Makes me a bit more terrified of hospitals.

Congratulations on your baby! It's a shame you had to deal with everything you did and I hope you contact your hospital about the treatment you received.

Logan Alexander is a great name; it happens to be my nephew's name as well!
