Hey everyone. I am pregnant with my 2nd child, and I am about 6w3d today. I am having severe mood swings and I was wondering if anyone else was and what they were doing to make it a little better? I feel sorry for my boyfriend because I take most of it out on him. I feel like a grumpy mess and I just want to feel like myself again. One second I am ( Read more... )

I had horrible mood swings early on, too. I literally had no filter, either. If I was pissed I had to let it fly & apologize after. Not that I was throwing furniture or anything, lol but I was impatient & felt like my SO was a complete incompetent twit.

Let's just say I made a LOT of cupcakes & special, favorite dinners for him during those first couple months : )

LOL i flipping hear yea! i suffer from depression and it is worse when im preggo. im w child number three at the moment. i went meds free for my other two and i had post-patron pretty badly after words. im on meds this time. i just went up 50 mgs cause i was a bitch and ready to throw down at any min. im alrite now. im still sad and weepie and than i wanna marry my bf. but at least the dangerous stuff stays where it belongs in my house now!! maybe try meds? idk but u should go see a therapist who has kids and understand. i see one. and get out more. do u work? if not go walking around ur town. get up and go to a local coffee shop u enjoy. go get some books at ur fav book store. call ur friends u havnt talked to in while and ask them over for some gurls time w movie and popcorn. dont shut urself in. get out. go shopping for-the baby even if its dollar items or just window shopping. and avoid ur friends who are drama driven. they tend to make me more anixerty. get a empty notebook and write in it as a journal when u feel very angry. OMG I hear you there. I'm bipolar which made it worse fortunatley I am able to take my med. again bc it was getting to the point where I couldn't function at all and going into a manic depressive eppy...yeah my husband had never seen me like that before. I hadn't felt like that in 6 yrs so I was scared.

Another bipolar disorder person.. it's been interesting to say the least (I've been off medication for a few years now though, so I'm almost functional in a non-pregnant state lol)

I went to a meditation class early in pregnancy and I found it helped a bit. My husband has been extremely supportive, and whenever I'm having another mood swings episode, he just keeps telling me "this is hormones, it will go away". It helps put things in perspective and I can sit there and disconnect for a few minutes before getting back to whatever I'm doing, because I KNOW I'm not really this upset/angry.

i was the same way at the beginning of my pregnancy and i totally wasn't prepared for the intensity of my mood swings. the only thing i can say is that it will get better in time. i had to apologize to my very hurt boyfriend on more than one occasion for something nasty i said when i was pissed off. just take the time to explain to him that you can't help it and you don't mean it and hopefully he will be understanding. i started feeling better in my 2nd trimester, but it doesn't completely go away.
