You have 2 weeks left. The baby does a lot of growing and maturing in those last two weeks. I know its hard, and I get that your uncomfortable but in the grand scheme of things the next two weeks are so insignificant for you but can make a huge difference for your baby. Take a warm bath/shower, get a massage, get lots of rest. It will be over soon enough, and you'll soon miss this time believe it or not.
But wow, I'd have been choked if they changed my due date by adding 2 weeks on. That last month feels super long, but before you know it, the kid is 2 years old (as you already know haha).
yeah I understand. My baby went 2 weeks over due (born at 41w6d's) while I had a 15month old hanging off me all through the day (I was still nursing her). I had such bad back pain I had to wear a brace for most of my second pregnancy. I have to tell you though, I never wanted that pregnancy to end because I knew as soon as the second baby came life would be so much more complicated. The best you can do now is just sleep when your toddler sleeps. And don't feel guilty about sitting her down in front of Sesame street for an hour while you lay down and relax and take some weight off your pelvis. These last few weeks are so important for your baby, just do all you can to make yourself as comfortable as you possible and know your doing the best you can for your unborn baby.
When you got your first due date, was it from an early ultrasound or was it just dated on your last menstrual period?
I'd be surprised if they changed your date AFTER you had an early ultrasound, is all. The later ones are less accurate is my understanding.
You might also keep in mind that it wouldn't be ideal to be caring for a vulnerable newborn with a cough and a runny nose. You should see if you can get that resolved before you reschedule a section.
They changed my due date to March 3rd after my first ultrasound.
We've been trying to resolve this cough before baby comes hence the 2 rounds of antibiotics but she said if it's viral they can't do anything. I think it may have something to do with the fact that my lungs can't fully inflate until baby drops.
I don't know if they'd let you change it. I know my hospital has a policy that they don't schedule any c-sections until 39 weeks. (unless it's an emergency) They might let you do it around 39 weeks though?
Anyways, hang in there! :( I'm sorry, I know how it goes. :( I hope you feel better and it will be worth it!
omg you poor thing. its horrible to be sick and at the end of pregnancy ( with my last one i got an ear infection so nasty i lost hearing for a week).
just try to wait it out. if the first due date is more correct then you will go into labor and get relief like that. it will be over before you know it. try a vaporizer and lots of hot tea and sit in steamy bathroom for your lungs.
