I have heard that fraternal twins are more likely to be born to women over 30. I cannot precisely remember the scientific basis for this though.

I THINK it's because an older woman's body is trying to accomplish more in a shorter period of time. Either that or her hormones are a bit out of whack as she's getting older... I've read the same thing, though!

When I recieved my 'booking appointment' (my first ante natal check-up) I got through some leaflets about multiples and it said they're more likely because of IVF, but also in women over 30...and this is a government pamphlet, so I'm inclined to agree with you.

I'm 23. So. It should be okay. Lol.

The older you are when you conceive the more likely your chance of having fraternal twins too. As you get closer to menopause your body doesn't always release its eggs regularly. A friend's doctor told her to think of it like a gumball machine. Sometimes you put your quarter in and it doesn't give you anything, but another time you might get a bonus gumball.
