Okay this is kind of embarrassing to admit... But is anyone else having a problem with sweating? My goodness its getting ridiculous... Only under my underarms but I work in a professional environment and I feel like such a dirtball! I sit at a desk all day so its not like I'm over exerting myself or anything ( Read more... )

I have the same problem... However, I never knew there were Rx meds that would help... Can I ask what you were using before your pregnancy?

Sure! The brand name is called Drysol... I forget what I actually use as I use the generic. You apply it at bedtime just like deoderant, for about a week every night. Then after that every other day or two days and it works great! Your underarms need to be completely absolutley dry tho, or the solution can really irritate your skin. I always used deoderant in the morning afterwards even tho it says its not necessary. If you use it the way it says to, it really does work wonders... I had a problem remembering to use it as directed. Lol.

I had that problem my first pregnancy and figure it will kick in soon enough with this one. I put a big fan in my office and sat in front of it as much as possible, light cotton clothes, lots of deoderant and sometimes reapplying it multiple times. It didn't fix it or anything, just made it a bit more bearable.

It isn't too bad for me during the day, although I notice I get a lot grosser during the day than I used to...mine is night sweats. I drench my PJs, have sweat running down my legs and arms a few nights a week. Yuck!

Do you use antiperspirant and deodorant, or just deodorant.

The reason I ask is that I stopped using antiperspirant when I was pregnant with my son, and while it was gross for awhile while all the crud came out of my pores, it got to a point where I would sweat just sweat and it didn't smell bad as long as I had deodorant on (I use Kiss My Face or Toms of Maine). I also use some Burt's Bees herbal deodorant spray and spritz it on my pits as a refresher if I start getting stinky.

I used to be like that too, but then I read something somewhere that talked about how antiperspirant makes us stink more. I tried life without it, just using deodorant, and while there is more moisture, it isn't that sticky stinky crap and it evaporates quickly.

I just know it's been two years and I won't ever go back to using it.

Me either, and I have an anhidrosis/hyperhidrosis situation going on. I've noticed not only do I smell better, my shirts no longer seem disposable--apparently a lot of the "pit staining" was actually from the antiperspirant. I use liquid crystal with chamomile and love it.

I think the reason I sweat more is because I'm HOT ALL THE TIME!

I keep a fan blowing on me at all times these days. Haha.
