Yeast infections are pretty common in pregnancy, so it wouldn't be surprising if you've got one. Call your doctor, or you can try to treat it yourself with natural remedies like yogurt and garlic. I wouldn't do an OTC yeast infection cream without an okay from a doctor while pregnant.
I called my midwife when I was experiencing similar problems. I had them since my first trimester but knew that OTC medicines weren't good or allowed to be used. In my second trimester, I called my midwife and she stated that it sure sounded like a yeast infection and to go grab some Monistat 3, which I did and felt immediate relief. It was awesome!!! I have a feeling your doctor will just recommend that so I wouldn't see any harm in purchasing the OTC medication IF you're in your second trimester. However, it is always best to give your doctor or caregiver a head's up.
I am in my second trimester and wish I read this earlier! I JUST ran to Target for a few other things and stopped and looked at the yeast infection stuff, hoping for something that would provide some kind of relief...but wasn't sure what was safe and walked away. :( Thank you!
bacterial vaginosis, sometimes the symptoms can be really similar. it can happen just out of the blue, or for the same problems as a yeast infection, so sometimes they get misdiagnosed unless examined under a microscope.
Hmm...this did happen just out of the blue, but I don't know if that's common to a yeast infection or not too. I'm just really hoping they call me back and get me an appointment soon, this is driving me crazy. Thank you for the info!
