Is it hot in here?

It's 30 degrees outside and I can't stop SWEATING. I've got the ceiling fan going, a couple of windows open, and I'm down to a t-shirt and panties. The hot flashes just keep coming and coming, and when they start to go away a little bit I start to FREEZE. My poor husband is hiding upstairs where it's still kind of warm, haha ( Read more... )

I sweat constantly. It's awesome. I've actually had to change shirts a few times in one day because of it. Which is a pain since I only have so many maternity shirts. :P

I have a host of over-sized t-shirts that serve me pretty well - I save the nicer shirts for when I'm out and about.

Yeah. It was threatening snow the other day while I was mall-walking, and I could only get through one lap or about 15 minutes of non-active window shopping before going to loiter outside for a few minutes.

Also, I wish Hubby hadn't turned the heat up this morning. I was comfy until he decided his toes were cold and realized the heat hadn't gotten turned up from overnight. I ended up opening the sliding glass door for about an hour after I did dishes, and would open it again if I didn't think Hubby would complain. I may just have to dig out a patio chair and sit outside to watch the snow melt.

Can't you maybe turn the heat down and ask your hubby to wear warmer clothes so you don't have to suffer?

I probably could, but I'd feel bad. He almost always wants it cooler than I do in the house, but lets me have my way because I moved here from a warmer climate. The one time he wants it warm, I'll let him have it warm, and the patio chair sounds pretty relaxing, anyway.

I started getting them before I even knew I was pregnant. I couldn't figure it out, as it was below freezing every day, and yet at night I was unbearably hot and sweaty. My poor husband has not been allowed to sleep with me because I can't deal with his body heat. I feel like it has gotten less bad as I got into my second trimester, but I'm afraid it's going to be unbearable when I get into my third, because then it'll be summer. Yikes.

The funny thing is, up until about last week, I was freezing almost all the time. It's nice not to need to wear sweaters in my own house, but this is a bit ridiculous. Thank goodness it's almost over!

You'll just have to keep ice and popsicles close by.

I don't have hot flashes, but I do sympathize... because ever since I got pregnant I've been ridiculously COLD. We live in the South, but I still haven't gotten to wear the one pair of maternity shorts I own because I'm freezing all the time. I wear fleece jackets around the house all day. It's nuts. I'm due in a few weeks also, so I have a feeling I may never get to wear those shorts...

That's how I was up until recently. I bought maternity capris and I figured I'd get to wear them towards the end . . . I've been wearing them, but I've had to roll them up and make them shorts.

LOL. My boyfriend is a wimp when it comes to the cold, and he thinks I'm nuts because I sit around the apartment naked most days, sometimes with the window open because I feel hot and as though I'm suffocating. So I hear ya!

I tend to do that after I get done with a shower - being able to just laze around is nice sometimes. Especially with the fan on.
