I really didn't want to go through applying to Making Babies to ask this and thought, who better to ask then the women who got me through my first pregnancy

i'm 34w1d pregnant right now with baby #2 and my first is 2 1/2 he'll be 3 years old in december. i'm going to like the age difference so they can play together when there both older, but i'll admit being pregannt with a 2 year old is tiring! being now close to 9 months pregnant and on bedrest since 27 weeks i just don't have the energy all the time for him and especially during the 1st trimester when i had to get in that 3-4 hour nap bc i was so dead tired.
it's rare that a woman's supply won't plummet when they go on a combo pill. here's a description of different birth control options and their impact on breastfeeding: http://www.kellymom.com/health/meds/birthcontrol.html
also - "My supply has been great I'm still slightly over producing" - you are only a month in. right now, your hormones are doing the bulk of the work when it comes to milk production. within the next few weeks/months, your supply will go to a true supply and demand cycle. and your oversupply will settle to your baby's needs. that's something to keep in mind too.
I got pregnant with #2 when #1 was about 6 1/2 months old, i hadn't gotten my period back yet, I was bfing on demand. It ended in a miscarriage at 16 weeks. My son weaned at 15 months and we got pregnant at 18 months, never did we use birth control after #1 was born. I am excited for them to be so close in age, my brother and I are 2 years apart and hubby and his sister are 2 years apart so it seemed "right" for us. We want our kids to have a sibling to grow up with so we decided we will have these 2 then wait till they are both in grade school and then will try for #3 and #4, again close in age. Goodluck in deciding!
Thanks, my husband and I are both only children so we don't have any personal experiance with siblings. We're basically at the point where we go back in forth with "well close in age they can play together but if we wait a few years the older one will be able to babysit eventually"
haha I at the moment couldn't imagine leaving a bay with my son haha but hes at that terrible 2 stage right now so that may be clouding my judgement :p Enjoy Aislyn whiel shes tiny, terrible twos SUCK!!! haha.
is it sad I sorta look forward to that? Aislyn is such a good baby (sleeping 4-6 hours, nursing perfectly, happy, etc) I look forward to when she starts getting into trouble, though I am enjoying this sleeping/pleasent smiley baby stage.
I have an 11 month old daughter and am 6w pregnant with number 2. I was on the mini pill for about a month to control some bleeding then I got a copper IUD because I'm not at all comfortable with hormonal BC methods. The IUD caused some horrible cramps and I had it removed on July 17th. My next period was July 30th and my positive HPT was on September 11th. We did plan this pregnancy. So, it took us one cycle to get pregnant again.
Since I'm only 6w (based on an early ultrasound, not my LMP), I can't say it's been any harder chasing my daughter around, but I am a lot more tired than I think I've ever been in my life, partly because my daughter reverse cycled a long time ago and nurses mostly at night.
As I said, we planned this pregnancy because we wanted our first 2 to be close in age. My brother and I are 19 months apart and Mike's nest younger sibling is 15 months younger than he is. A year and a half seemed to be the perfect time table for us.
