Title: The Case of the Lucky Loss Author: Caro Dee Fandom: Perry Mason Pairing: Perry Mason/Paul Drake Rating: PG-13 Scenario: A major sporting event ( Read more... )
Thank you! *g* I've always loved the show since I was a kid, but it only occurred to me recently that they were slashable. They're really very handsome men with a lot of chemistry.
I just rekindled a long-ago interest in Perry Mason so of course I went looking for slashfic. I'm so glad I happened upon this one first.
Stuff I love:
1. Paul's POV. When I was a kid (I watched this show all the time in reruns) I thought Paul Drake was the hottest thing going. I wanted to be Della so he'd look at me and say "Hiya, Beautiful!" But I digress. You've perfectly captured his personality - brash, bold and fun. 2. Perry is completely focused on the game. Well, of course he is! That's what makes him a great lawyer. You've got him down, right to the "I'm not sure it's in my best interest to represent you when you're suing me." 3. A World Series game, two hundred bucks in my pocket, and Perry Mason in my bed. Lady Luck was sure smiling at me today. That's just a fun, fun line and a great summary.

And now I am hearing Raymond Burr in my head. Not that that is a bad thing...
