I read the book a few years back. Fabulous! I loved every word of it and agree, the book did not end on a high note; but great!

the scene you mention - you'd expect the inner dialogue to be so powerful and only in a book;
and also the reason, that movies based on books generally do not hold up well.

Have not seen the movie - and don't have any current plans to change that.

Nice view! the area look very undeveloped. Do you live on the outskirts of Pune?

yes, I loved the book too, but was sad at the ending though. Sadly the movoes are not that great as books :( And yes I live on the outskirts of Pune. :)

You should read A Thousand Splendid Suns by the same author as well. It's the one book I felt really moved by when I was done with it. Amazing.
