Yay, I'm not the only one that thinks like this. I have a slight boycott thing going on for this movie, but it does look comparitavely better, so I'm starting to waver.

Oh yes, there are many who aren't impressed by Twilight. :-) I don't mind seeing the movie, but what I can't understand is that very few people criticise the books in public. Since they have obvious flaws, I find it puzzling how esteemed instances like Publisher's Weekly have given them glowing reviews.

Lol, I was actually wondering if you had read "Twilight" or not! :p Now I see that you have....

The movie might be an improvement on the book I think thanks to the fact that RPattz and KStew are so much cooler than Edward and Bella in the books will ever be--I love how not!srs bsns they are about the books, how much they recognize the books for being totally ridiculous....and Kristen cannot play a truly faithful Bella I think, she's too self-assured and cynical/snarky a person I feel....too, shall we say "intelligent"? ;) (Sorry, can't stand Bella....or Edward either really.) I read the books for Jacob.....

Yet I do really want to see this movie, and wish I was in America for this one weekend--or in a country that didn't dub! Because if there's one thing that's going to really make the movie worse, it's Bella speaking with the voice of a 30 year old Spanish woman, etc....:( I'm still not sure what I'm going to do about this...

Oh yes, I have read Twilight indeed! :-) Look at my tags and find "Twilight Report", and you'll find my reports as I read the book.

I'm looking forward to seeing what film critics say about this movie...so far the books (except the last one) have been almost universally praised by critics (which I'm completely baffled about), but the film could be okay as it fixes the sloppy writing and the plot problem. I showed the trailer to a group of fellow uni students during a presentation on youth lit, and I heard some sighs, "I'm gonna see that!". These were people who had no previous knowledge of the books.
Wonder how it does at the box office...
