I'll have to find the movie again when I've finished listening. I am liking it rather more than I expected to; I've tried picking it up before, and I just couldn't get into it. I am intigued by Ellen, and am rather liking Newland, in spite of his dubious choices.

A couple of years ago in undergrad, we read another of Wharton's novels -- The House of Mirth. I adored this one. Highly recommend it, to read or to listen to an audiotape. Because I liked it so much, I went and read TAoI, but didn't think it was as strong. Lily in THoM is an incredible character.
