More Words

With the Completion and posting of Chapter 4 of The Planet on its Side and Chapter 2 of Shawn Spencer Saves the World I'm up to 38,588 words.  It's 1 a.m. and I just realized I've not yet posted The Planet on its side 3 and 4 to livejournal.  Tomorrow I promise.

That's not so many words before I have to write an own universe piece.

Woo! That's nearly fourty thousand words! Not bad. I'm looking forward to reading the Psych xover.. Sadly I have Chapter 16: Water Pollution and Chapter Five : Newton's Laws of Motion to look forward to instead. No fanfiction there, sadly. Even though I could imagine, whilst reading about how landfills destroy groundwater that Superman and Aquaman work with U.N.I.T. to fight aliens who are using such things to conquer the Human race... on the other hand, that seems absolutely retarded.

Actually, I used my overactive fantasy life to make my school reading more interesting all through college and grad school (and wrote papers in which I got A's describing some of the things I had invented on three separate occasions.) It's not a bad strategy. EVERYTHING is story fodder. I've been thinking that might be a fun challenge, actually. I challenge you to incorporate something from each of those chapters into a story.

Go google up The Cold Equations and grab a copy of Cat's Cradle (if you havent read these already.) All right, the Cats Cradle connection to water pollution is scanty, but I'm too distracted right now to do research.

I have in the past done that, when I was taking this wonderfully tedious World civ class last semester I often wrote incorporating what we were talking about in lecture. I actually had what I thought was an impressive Fourth Doctor/ OFC thing where she was a traveler from his future that he accidently left behind in Ancient Greece, and she then became a slave or something... the details are foggy now, it's in my notebook somewhere. I like doing it, I just need to get through the chapter, tonight would be ideal. However I've still got about twenty pages and I want to get to bed earlier.. looks like I'll finish it tomorrow. I'm beat.

But if you want to read about Superman and et al I'd totally knock something out. Even though I know nothing about Superman outside of the first two or three seasons of Smallville. I'm not very well acquainted with our Great American Hero.
